     सिक्किम प्रहरीलाई पशु अधिकारबारे प्रशिक्षण: PETA भारतको ऐतिहासिक पहल (Sikkim Police Join PETA India's First Animal Protection Workshop in Gangtok)

सिक्किम प्रहरीका अधिकारीहरू PETA भारतको पहिलो पशु संरक्षण कार्यशालामा सहभागी जनाएका छन्। जनावरहरूको नैतिक उपचार (PETA) भारतले गान्तोकमा पहिलो पटक सिक्किम प्रहरीका लागि पशु कल्याण संवेदनशीलता तथा क्षमता विकास कार्यशाला आयोजना भएको हाे। यस कार्यशालाको मुख्य उद्देश्य कानुनी चेतना अभिवृद्धि गर्दै अन्तरविभागीय समन्वयमार्फत पशु संरक्षण कानूनको प्रभावकारी कार्यान्वयनलाई प्रोत्साहित गर्नु हो।

कार्यशाला PETA भारतका कानुनी सल्लाहकार तथा क्रूरता प्रतिक्रिया निर्देशक मीत आशारको नेतृत्वमा भएको हो। कार्यक्रममा जनावर संरक्षणसँग सम्बन्धित PCA ऐन, वन्यजन्तु संरक्षण ऐन, भारतीय दण्ड संहिता (BNS २०२३), र अन्य महत्त्वपूर्ण कानुनी प्रावधानहरू समेटिए का छन्। सिक्किमका विभिन्न जिल्लाबाट करिब ६० प्रहरी अधिकारीहरूको सहभागिता जनाएका थिए।

PETA India सन् २००० मा स्थापित, मुम्बईमा आधारित पशु अधिकार संस्था हो, जसले जनावरको प्रयोग, शोषण, लगाउने वा मनोरञ्जनको विरोधमा काम गर्दै आएको छ। अनुसन्धान, जनचेतना, पशु उद्धार तथा कानुनी वकालतमा क्रियाशील यो संस्थाले भारतमा पशु कल्याण प्रवर्द्धनमा उल्लेखनीय योगदान पुर्याउँदै आएको छ l

Governor Attends 211th Bhanu Jayanti, Honors Cultural Heritage and Literary Icons

    Today Honorable Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur participated as Chief Guest in 211th Bhanu Jayanti Celebration organized at Bhanu Udhyan, Gangtok. Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr. Prem Singh Tamang also had a dignified presence on this occasion. In addition to this, Hon'ble Ministers, Loksabha MPs, MLAs, High Officers, Public Representatives, Literature Lovers, School children also participated in the function. This year's 'Golden Jubilee of Sikkim and Golden Achievement of the Nation' Stayed dedicated to the slogan.

On this occasion, the Governor paid tribute to the first Padmashree honored writer Mr. Sanu Lama, saying that his demise is an irreparable loss to Sikkimi Nepali literature and culture. During the ceremony, Hon'ble Governor paid tribute to Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya by garlanding the statue.

In his address, the Governor said that language is not just a medium of communication, it is the identity of our civilization, culture. When we respect mother tongue, we honor our past and direct our future. He described Bhanu Jayanti not just a celebration, but a symbol of linguistic unity and cultural heritage convener and nounced cultural revival to the contribution of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya ji.

The Governor, highlighted the social, cultural and economic growth of Sikkim that Sikkim has achieved remarkable achievements in these five decades after becoming the 22nd state of India. He called for the people to take a pledge to further strengthen the spirit of unity in diversity.

On this occasion, the Governor also appreciated that the traditional dress is being encouraged in various government offices, which symbolizes connection with our cultural roots. The Governor appealed to all to continue this tradition.

Finally, they have congratulated Nepali Literature Council, Sikkim on the success of this event.

 Sikkim Rifle & Pistol Academy Hosts Press Briefing on Shooting Sports & Career Opportunities📍 Tadong, Gangtok | 12th July 2025

Today, the Sikkim Rifle & Pistol Academy, under the leadership of Shri Sanjay Budhathoki, President of Sikkim Rifle Association and an international athlete, held a press briefing at its office in Tadong, Opposite Vishal Mart, to announce the official commencement of training programs and highlight the importance of shooting sports in Sikkim.

Also present at the briefing was Mr. Sumit Sharma, Office Executive of the Academy, who provided details about the registration process, course structures (Basic, Standard, and Professional), and the full range of facilities that will soon be available at Sikkim’s first-ever 9-lane indoor shooting range.

Speaking to the media, President Shri Sanjay Budhathoki emphasized that shooting is not just a sport, but a life-changing opportunity. He said,

 This academy is not only a step toward creating Olympic-level shooters but a platform to shape strong, focused individuals who can serve the nation through defense services, government jobs, and sports excellence.”

He also encouraged the youth of Sikkim to come forward and explore this unique career path through professional training and discipline offered by the Academy.

With growing enthusiasm and over 50 early registrations already completed, the Academy aims to open its training facility to students officially by 10th August 2025

State-Level Review Meeting on New Criminal Laws Held at Samman Bhawan; CM Highlights Implementation Strategy

A state-level review meeting on the implementation of the newly enacted criminal laws—the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA)—was held today at Samman Bhawan. These laws, which came into effect in July last year, mark a significant shift in India’s criminal justice framework.

The meeting also witnessed the official launch of the “Compendium of Notifications, Rules, and SOPs on New Criminal Laws,” a comprehensive reference guide aimed at aiding smooth and effective enforcement.

Chief Minister addressed the gathering, underscoring the importance of these legal reforms and their long-term relevance in enhancing public safety, security, and legal clarity. He also shared constructive suggestions to streamline implementation and minimize transitional challenges for law enforcement agencies and citizens alike.

The Chief Minister extended his congratulations to the officials involved in the meticulous compilation of the compendium, commending their expertise and commitment to strengthening the legal system.

१९३९ मा जन्मिएका गरुड सिहं लामा, साहित्यिक नाम सानु लामा चर्चित हुनुहुन्थ्यो। भारतको पद्मश्री पदकद्वारा सम्मानित भएका बरिष्ठ साहित्यकार सानु लामा हिज राती जसटीएन एम अस्पतालमा सोचेगाङ गान्तोकमा साह्रो भएपछि सिलगढ़ी नियोटिया नर्सिङ होममा रेफर गरिएको थियो। परिवारको तर्फबाट दिइएको जानकारीअनुसार आज बिहान ठीक ६:३० बजी उपचारको क्रममा उनको निधन भयो। उनी अहिले ८८ वर्ष उमेरमा हिँड्दै थिए। गत केही दिनअघि रूघा मारगीले थलिएका थिए अनि‌ उपचारको निम्ति अस्पतालमा भर्ना गरिएको थियो। उनको पार्थिव शरीर आज गान्तोक ल्याइनेछ।
